It's not easy

getting both of these people cleaned up and ready for bed. Actually it's quite a difficult process. In the beginning there is quite a bit of negotiating (I'll take her and you take him... no wait.. you take her and i'll take him... no wait... you take 'em both and I'll do them next time **yeahright**). In the middle there is a buttload of protesting from both him and her no matter who gets who. Usually 4 people end up being bathed when only the 2 of them were supposed to be. Well, as Machiavelli so eloquently put it, the end justifies the means!

Please keep tuning in...

and I'm going to do my very best to spice this place up and I'm getting help from some of the very best in the biz. I still consider myself "wet behind the ears" at this blogging stuff but after a weekend of shamelessly plugging my blog to anyone and everyone with a PC and a sense of humor I've decided my blog needs a little spicing. I'm taking a crash course in blogging and I just know that in a few shorts weeks/months/years/whatever I am going to have some loyal fans. Please believe I'm gonna earn your adoration... stay tuned for some fun things and lots more of my "inner musings". Many thanks in advance!

Photoshoot round 2

Need I say more??????????????????? Lordy be...I don't know what the final announcement will look like but it's bound to be interesting...and cute.

What is

Jesus's middle name anyway??? I mean, I know it starts with H (hence the "H" in Jesus H. Christ)and all but....is it Harold, Henry, Hubert, Homer, Hugh, Heath, something I haven't mentioned????? Come on bible thumpers.... Help a sister out.

16 month old and 3 week old photo shoot

Getting a good pic of my kids at their ages is about as hard as getting some peace in the Middle East. Holy crud!!! Who's hair is jacked up, who's pulling their bow out, who's spitting up all over him/herself, who's holding a golfball that she WILL NOT put down, who's got gas and is making a face like he's growing a tail, who is sliding off the makeshit chair/set.... Jeezus H Christ...... It was a rough one. Needless to say we're having round two tonight after looking at the first set of proofs and have already scheduled round 3. Here is a classic one just so you see what I'm talking about. Who's kid is that and what kind of face is that??????????????? I just need one good shot of the both of them for the announcement...is that too much to ask???

Deet Doo Mommy

Marc and I were just discussing the prospect of maybe having another kid sometime in the future. If it were up to him we would be done. If it were up to me we'd have another in about 2 years or so. Like any good man he wants to make sure that another child wouldn't strap us financially. It's so far from something that I want to do at this time but I like talking about it so he knows where my head is at and so he stays open to the idea... I really think it's gonna take a lot of convincing.

Just as I was explaining to him that I would be back to work by then and I wouldn't want to do it either if I didn't think we could afford it and we would only consider it if bla bla bla I handed Eva her sippy cup and she said "Deet Doo Mommy" (thank you mommy). She must be a much better negotiator than I because immediatly upon her saying that Marc said "Okay we'll have another one".

Give this guy a banana!!

I don't watch the show "Dangerous Jobs" so this occupation may have already been on it and I don't know it but if not... it needs to be!!! Yesterday we had some trees cut down in our yard to make way for some grass and a swing set. Don't worry Treehuggers we only cut down trees that were dead and a danger to begin with. Anything that was healthy was spared... anyway...

The guys pulled up around 8:00 am and within minutes this one fellow was up in the tree doing his thing. He literally climbed the tree with one hand (I'm guessing he had spikes on his boots). The other hand was on his chain saw which was hanging from his belt RUNNING!!!!!!!!!! WTF???????

Synchronized napping

AKA the calm before the storm.

Hands full

So the sibling rivalry begins. For the most part Eva is a total sweetheart to her new brother "Ookie". She loves to kiss him and give him "huggies" when he's in his swing on crib or somewhere by himself. However, as soon as Daddy picks him up her good nature gives way to a crusty, mean little child. She hollers and tugs on his clothes and try to yank him out of Daddy's hands. As a result, Daddy is walking around with a crunked up back b/c he spends much of the time he's home carrying two kids around! His hands are full.

I know this sounds like whining and we should suck it up because...heck...some people (the Duggars come to mind) have 18 kids but we're still getting used to the idea of having kids (plural!).

She's getting better and better everyday at being a big sister and I do believe before long she'll be cool with just having him around. For a little while at least...until the toy snatching begins.

Thank Heaven for little boys

I call this "A baby burrito".

It's funny how in a year you forget all of the newborn stuff. Eva looks so big to me know and such just like a kid. Two weeks ago she was still a baby...awwe. I'm surprised (again) at how much these little guys can change in just a few days. Luke's gone from "Space Alien" (dubbed by Uncle Mark in the hospital) to pure, unadulterated sweetness. As Gail would say, being born is hard work. I guess it only takes a few days to snap back into shape. Well, Luke has officially snapped!

I'm also suprised at how much I love little boy clothes. Don't get me wrong...nothing makes me happier than putting a fly outfit on Eva and showing her off but who knew soccerballs, and teddy bears and "little trains that could" would be so cute???? Since having Eva I've always felt a little pity for a woman who doesn't have a girl. I thought "what a shame to not be able to buy bows, and Maryjanes, and tights and pretty dresses". Now I see how utterly ridiculous that notion is. It's funny the things being a Mom will teach you....
