All the money we spend on toys

for these ding dang kids and Eva sits on the couch and plays "batteries" (that's what she calls it)? Really? Believe me, I know I'm not the first person to ponder this phenomenon but I think it's a code that we collectively need to crack. If you saw how many toy boxes and piles of toys these kids have scattered around this house you'd look at me judgingly. It borders on excessive yet she sits indian style on the couch dumping D batteries out of flashlight and putting them back in. Over and over again. I asked her what she's doing and she tells me "I'm busy playing batteries mama". Okay then.

Don't knock it if you haven't tried it. It's fun to play batteries!

Sounds like a blast! Remember when your parents got a new fridge? That giant box was the best toy ever!! First a new home, then a fort, then a slide, then a lump of non-grassy area....

This really is one of life's great mysteries. Evan has been entertaining himself with a pack of bathtub stickies..you know, those things you put on the bottom of the tub so you don't slip? What's up with that?

Dalton has a bathtub full of toys and plays with an empty shampoo bottle, and an empty peanut butter jar.

BUT.... will we learn and stop buying all these toys that they ABSOLUTELY must have ? I think not. It keeps the economy going, anyway.
